MY DIY WHITE RIPPED SKINNY LEGS: PART ONE!
As a child growing up I can remember I always use
to occupy myself with cutting up pieces of fabric which I found just laying
around etc. Scratching for some needle and thread or a pair of scissors. I didn’t
have a clue of how to stich! I remember I was only six, yet did what I thought was
sewing which I caught from watching my ma.
I have to add games in the street was
never my thing not because I wasn’t allowed, but because I thoroughly enjoyed
keeping myself busy sewing instead. I can remember how frustrated it would be
if I made something and it just would not fit which I am sure I ended up in
tears. Playing on my own as I was the only child for a very long time. I would
play doll house and think that one day I would probably end up making clothes.
Yet, I also liked making money and playing shop. Buying tons of things
imagining myself being a rich stylish lady or being the shop keeper owning the
store ringing up everything being purchased by my dolls, lol. Also taking old
supermarket receipts found in the plastic bags from Pick n Pay etc. and
recalculating it with my mom’s calculator checking if the total on the slip
would be the same as I calculated that made me think its pure magic. Which
right now in my accounting world means to “Balance” Lol…These fond memories are definitly
making me smile right now.
I however didn’t stop trying to make
my own clothes by cutting up old ones which I often got scolded for by my dad
which made me end up in tears again. That’s
why I enjoyed working on this DIY Ripped White Skinny Leg Denims I envisioned
for one of my spring hot items and didn’t get scolded at, nor was it too small.
WHAT
DID I USE?
·
Pair
of scissors
·
Ruler
·
A
marker
·
Main
item OLD WHITE SKINNY LEG DENIMS FROM MR PRICE
HOW
DID I DO IT?
- I firstly laid down the denims straight and leveled evenly
· I
then started at the bottom by measuring 5cm from the hem straight up and marked
it. This was done for both legs.
· Thereafter
I cut the 5cm off, as straight as possible both legs.
· I
took my pair of scissors and started with the right middle leg, then just
started to rip it everywhere I wanted to, on both legs.
· Thereafter
I tried cutting out a heart shape on the back pocket to just show off how much I
love my jeans and my “artwork” Lol.
·
Lastly
I just flipped over the hems and ironed it flat to stay fixed.
AND
THERE YOU GO!
I still would like to add some more
detail like glitter, iron on prints etc. but will leave it for part two.I hope you enjoyed reading.
