LOOK BOOK: Strength and Structure - The Androgeny Trend 2016

" Defined as the combination of masculinity and femininity in personality and structure."

For some time now I have been really loving the longer blazer trend which I feel stems off my greater love for trench coats. I am obsessed with the structured fit it has and the wide variety of styles in which it has evolved into. It can take you from day time to night and looks absolutely flawless just thrown over your shoulders. This indeed is on my classic items list and a winter stable in every closet.

However, the sleeveless blazer trend has been a huge hit since last season and throughout this year. Ranging from light weight fabrics for Spring in soft colours and a heavier fabric for Autumn, like the one I'm wearing. Even though it is sleeveless, it still remains structured and can be dressed up or down. Building up towards this year and while introducing 2016 trends, on runways or various other fashion editorials, structured looks have been featured. This trend emerges from androgyny which simply means the unity of both male and female. You might think unisex items, but not quite as this trend still make provision for femininity which men will not be able to wear. However, if we as females should decide to wear a guys blazer, it would be very trendy as we would be able to match it with other timeless feminine pieces we already own, for example, a sheer white blouse or a bodysuit.

Neutrals is another hit this season and will be straight into Winter. Whether it's in coats, knitwear, scarfs, athleisure (clothes designed for workouts but worn to work etc.) pieces, bodysuits or simply a cameo, it will set you within the trend.

This look post was shot on the beach front at Boulders Beach Blouberg, Cape Town during sunset.Which was extremely beautiful as we had a front row view of Table Mountain. You might know by now that I am extremely fond of beautiful views and love the outdoors so this was ideal. I was once again reminded of how blessed we capetonians are and in the midst of difficulties we can still pursue our goals.

Thank you for reading and please feel free to share your views on this trend with me right here or via twitter @miss2beesy.
