Hey Ladies!
Are you ready for this week’s beauty scoop?
Well, grab a cup of tea and sit back, cause you in for a treat.
Labello has launched a brand new Vanilla Buttercream lip balm just in time to get your lips in top shame for Valentine’s Day. I have been using it all weekend long and it certainly smells deli'sh, it was actually kinda difficult to stop myself from licking my lips every time. The vanilla scent and taste reminds me of “Ouma’s groot gebak” or in my case my favourite aunt’s sweet treats on a Sunday afternoon tea. Yet, this is even better because Labello’s extra care formula moisturizes lips and protects it against the weather, using natural oils like Shea butter.
You can now find this scent at your nearest supermarket, Clicks and Dis-chem Pharmacies and retails at R 24.99 per 5.5ml.  BUT WAIT! Labello and Ruby Box are currently hosting an amazing competition.

You could stand a chance of winning R 2500.00 by simply voting for your favourite vanilla treat here.

Good Luck and Thanks for reading!

My LauGem Experience

20 November 2017

Hey beauties!
Hope you ladies are doing fab and if not, then I hope this short review will leave you inspired to get “beautified”.

For most of my life I have been suffering of having short brittle nails which was mostly because I had the habit of biting my nails. During my teen years I would battle to get rid of that nasty habit, but eventually I did. My nails then started to form shape and grew to a maintainable length, which I like. However, during season changes my skin goes dry and my finger nails and hair misbehaves until the weather has settled.  So, for a few weeks my nails has healed with no sign of chipping, that’s why I decided to get a gel overlay on my natural nails  two Saturdays ago. I also knew I had an event coming up and wanted to look a little more polished which was not a problem because; Lauren from LauGem nail bar invited me to try their services. You might think… “How was their service?” Well Darling, keep on reading. Winx

Lauren is a professional and passionate nail technician who is amazingly friendly and warm hearted. She made sure I was comfortable before starting with the treatment. At first, I was tad indecisive of colours and styles for my nails but Lauren was open to ideas and also allowed her creativity to flow.

We eventually jointly decided that a chrome effect will compliment a light greyish colour I chose. Lauren showed me some of her previous nail art that lead me to decide on a design that will make a statement. She mostly uses Gel-It on client’s nails which is a well-recognised brand and used by most nail techs. However, I personally don’t like the brand as it doesn’t stick for too long and chips after a while. I have had this set for over two weeks and today my nails are starting to show signs of peeling and my thumb and , it looks beautiful! Having this done on my own nails makes it more comfortable and less damaging. I personally also believe that if the product is applied correctly you will have more benefits out of it and Lauren did just that!

LauGem prices are reasonable and worth every cent. A set like mine will cost you about R300.00 including a hand treatment consisting of exfoliating scrub, 15 min massage and moisturising. If you do get tired of the same nail colour, you could book a soak too for R 55.00.
LauGem is situated in Diepriver Cape Town and maintains an inspiring Instagram account. Check it out here. Thank you for reading!

Summer is about to hit us and there is no better way to be prepared than to stock up on useful must have beauty products. Kangol's latest summer goodies landed on my vanity table and I thought of showing all of you what's new.

This season my beauty routine will defiantly be more natural (keeping the heat in mind) with a minimal splash of colour either on my nails, lips or eyes. I will be creating a look with these products and upload it on my Instagram feed. I have however tested the "paradise party" nail polish (gold glitter in the picture below) and I absolutely fell in love. It's perfect over any of the other bolder summer colours or even a nude nail polish.

You can try it too! Pop in to your nearest Truworths store and if your purchase is more than R350.00 you will receive this beach bag absolutely free. Which is great because you were going to buy a new beach bag anyway right... I know I was. winx

Hey Guys and Happy Monday!

It’s a beautiful spring day in the “Mother City” and while typing this I am snacking on a delicious fruit salad. Topped with some crunchy almonds and blueberries, putting me in a summer mood.

Having that said, I recently popped into the Youghazi Beauty Bar in Woodstock for a 60-minute full body massage. It was amazing! And refreshed me for the season ahead along with their hair and bath products. Ever since I visited them I have been using their products which I LOVE, but not only me Justin too. Whenever, I moisturise my hands with their “No 6 Refresh” body creme it smells so divine… he even thinks I am spritzing on some perfume.  Speaking of which, I have also been using their refresh fragrance and I think I will be making it my signature scent. The hospitality range are manufactured in cute little 50ml bottles perfect for my hand bag, to keep in the car or to add something extra to the bathroom when having guests over.

Their products are made with natural ingredients such as aloe, ylang ylang oil, etc. and each range has its own sense of freshness. Youghazi is a proudly South African brand with a lab based in Cape Town and founded by an award-winning entrepreneur, Rushana Meyer. This brand has the ability to make you feel and smell good, but that’s not all. Youghazi also empowers individuals by giving them the ability to sell their products and register as agents.

Visit their website for more info.

Thank you for visiting and hope you pop by soon!

Kangol Matte Mousse Foundation Review Ft. Video

11th August 2017
 Hey beauties!
I hope that you are well and ready for the weekend. Before we sail into that, let me tell you all you need to know about Kangol’s newest lightweight matte mousse foundation. I spoke about it a few weeks ago on my Instagram story when I received it. I have been using it and made the following observations.

Mousse foundation applications differ slightly from how you would apply a liquid foundation, mainly because the product differs in texture. Usually, with a liquid foundation you would dab the product with a beauty blender. However, I found that using a foundation brush is much easier with this particular foundation.  It is packaged in a jar which makes accessing the product easy especially when it starts running low, but still mess free.  I have included how I apply this product in my video below.
A thick texture which stays true to the word “mousse” in every way by being soft and light on the skin. Kangol’s formula of ingredients makes it very easy to remove and able to give you full coverage that is required to leave skin flawless.

This foundation is perfect if you have an oily skin like me and it will allow you to decrease the shine that you might get when using a liquid foundation. I have also found that with it, I don’t have to apply any press powder when initially applying and throughout the course of the day. This is great and something I like, because it means you would be saving on time and money. I struggle with shine the most during summer and no I am not speaking about that healthy glow, but that unwanted shine when the weather feels like 40 degrees lol. Therefore, I think that this foundation will be my go-to- thing during the coming summer season. It also contains SPF 15.
Kangol has released a range of four shades that is available at all Truworths stores nationwide for only R159.95.

Avon Advance Techniques Supreme Oils Shampoo and Conditioner review.

19th April 2017
Hey Huns!
I hope your second day of the four day week has been off to an awesome start!  As for me, I have been grinding the grindstone and sacrificed most of my days over the Easter holidays.  However, to keep in balance, I thought I should write a little and think it’s the ideal time to share my latest hair care products.

We are transitioning from summer into autumn and everything is changing. My hands are dry, my lips are dry and I can’t help to believe that my hair will soon be going into some kind of transformation too. That’s why I love changing up products especially in between seasons and more so, because my MK Brazilian treatment I had done last year is slowly growing out.  After I made this discovery, I thought that it would be a perfect time to give Avon’s Supreme Oils Shampoo and Conditioner a go! I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I have been receiving so many hair compliments, I thought I should let you in on it.

The Avon team sent over their full Advance Techniques shampoo and conditioner range a while ago and after I read the catalogue I immediately knew that I would want to try the Supreme oils set first.  It’s manufactured for dry hair which is perfect for my current state as we move into winter. The shampoo’s marketing material guarantees to restore intense nourishment to hair, making it look smoother, stronger and healthier. And guess what! It does exactly that along with the conditioner, which leaves my hair soft and hydrated. I usually shampoo my hair twice because, one shampoo is to strip all the excess oils and dirt from my hair and the second to wash and polish. Yet, I have discovered that by the time I do my second shampoo using this range it’s usual not necessary. This is an indication that the product will last longer and save me some time while washing too. However, on the flip side, because I naturally have an oily scalp my hair tends to become greasy by day three after washing it and usually this happens on day four. Even though during this season my hair feels dry at first before it goes back to its natural state and becomes dirty quicker than usual. Which I guess is a small price to pay for hair that’s smoother for longer.
You could change up your winter care products too, by entering this giveaway. Stand a chance of winning:
1 x 250ml Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Shampoo
1 x 250ml Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Conditioner
1 x 250ml Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Hair Serum
This is ideal to combat frizz (“mince”) during the mist and to restructure damaged hair. Infused with Argan oil, Pro Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E.

Scarlett Johansson- Oscars 2017

Inspired MakeUp Look ft. Kangol ZA

3 April 2017

Hey Beauty lovers, I’m happy to share my latest make-up review and look with you using two of Kangol’s eyeshadow palettes.

A couple of weeks ago I spotted Kangol posting about their favourite make-up looks worn by a few actors to the Oscars on Instagram. I immediately felt like recreating some of them and unfortunately only got to do this one look. However, I thoroughly enjoyed only using Kangol products and playing around with various colours to create something natural. Scarlett is known for her soft and whimsical beauty looks which are super easy to recreate or even jazz up a bit. I used the lightest pinkish -nude shade in the “primal” eyeshadow palette to prime my eyelid moving from the inner corners of my eye in a windscreen wiper motion (see Instagram video). Thereafter, I used the bronze shade in Kangol’s newly launched eyeshadow palette called “Nocturnal” to define my crease and the light pink shade to highlight my upper-crease. To complete everything I added some blush to my cheeks, liquid matte lip stick in the shade "whispers" and the “wonder” mascara to define my lashes.Lately, I can’t live without tote bags and thankfully received another one with this press kit. I love that it’s stylish and super easy to handle for a girl on-the-go. In my opinion Kangol products are always reasonably priced and a freebie is always added with a purchase over R250.00 (don’t we all love free stuff lol.) I would recommend their nail enamels which last a while and their mascaras too. The textures of the eyeshadows are quite light and needs more than one application to blend in well.

All kangol products are available from Truworths stores.

Little "Lace" Dress by Avon Fragrance Review

14 February 2017

Happy Valentine's Day my lovlies!

I hope that someone will make you feel extra special today or that you may go the extra mile to make someone else smile. After all, beyond the teddies and chocs that’s what this day is ultimately all about. I have tried out a brand new perfume by Avon over this past weekend and have to tell you all about it.

Little Lace Dress is the type of fragrance which is ideal for this Valentine's Day, any evening out with Bae or even if you’re simply finding yourself in a flirtatious mood. Its timeless elegance will have him or her fall in love with you all over again. This fruity perfume has a feminine scent which comes from a wide blend of ingredients like blackcurrant, jasmine touched by Indonesian bark patchouli, vanilla and musk. It had me after the first spritz and I am only keeping it for very special occasions. I even asked Justin his opinion and he likes it and gave his stamp of approval. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous as you can see in these images below… I hope you agree? It’s also the perfect size to pop into my handbag. I own a number of Avon perfumes and I can honestly say that the scent lasts all day long, which is exactly what I need from any perfume. However, I do have a problem of not smelling it if I wear one scent continuously, but this occurs with any other perfume I use. Therefore, I try to use a different scent for every day from various brands so that I don’t get immune to any smell.

This perfume sells for R370.00 and has an accompanying body lotion and a purse size spray for R71.90 and R115.00 respectively. However, if you place your order for the 50ml Eau Du Perfume this month you can get it for a discounted price of R209.00 and that’s not all! You can now buy the full set for only R259.00 from your Avon representative or visit their website here.

30th November 2016

Hey Beauties
On Thursday, 24th November 2016 I visited the Bionic Hair and Beauty salon which is better known as a one-stop-beauty shop. This establishment has been in the industry for more that fourteen years and growing by the minute. Bionic is owned by two strong business women who are also twin sisters, Rihanna and Rushana. These beautiful salon queens know exactly what they want to achieve and by the looks of it, nothing will be able to stop them. They invited me over to try the Micro Keratin treatment which is the newest Brazilian treatment that has hit our South African shores. I have included more about this treatment below under “my experience”, for now you can read up on each aspect of the salon in more detail.

As you might know the salon industry is female dominated and most of Bionics’ stylists and therapists are women. They are well spoken, very welcoming and friendly, well skilled, very sales driven and portray good team spirit.

Services, Treatments and Equipment:
Bionic offers a wide range of services that’s why it’s known as a one-stop-shop. Services ranging from laser hair removal treatment, to foot peels, to various manicures and pedicures, to grooming, various massage treatments, both male and female haircuts, permanent hair straightener, tinting and the list is endless. But if you are not in the mood for anything fancy then try their wash and blow; I am sure you will enjoy the head massage too. Bionic makes it easier for a busy woman like you and I to stock up on the best after-care/home care hair products, because they offer a wide range of world renowned products along with styling tools, that can be purchased from them while you visit.

Situated at 10 Tulbagh Road, Monte Vista Cape Town. Your point of connection to the salon would be from the N1 City shopping centre which is 10 minutes away. If you are mobile and unsure about how to navigate your way, first try your GPS and if you still find yourself stranded try calling the salon for directions. However, if you are not mobile and find yourself in transit (public transport) try traveling to N1 City Mall. Then walk over the bridge and you will find an Engen Garage on your left and a Shoprite supermarket on your right. At this point I would suggest you ask around at the garage for further directions or call the salon which is 2 minutes away.  Bionic also has various pop-up-stores at most Edgars branches around Cape Town’s leading shopping malls, where you can stock up on hair care products and styling tools using your Edgars Club card.

Added benefits and Pricing:
We all like “freebies” right? Well at Bionic this comes freely lol. Yes, from sipping on a delicious coffee while getting your hair done to gaining rewards. However, with this rewards system you don’t gain points! You are able to receive cash back with every purchase (see Bionics’ website for more info). I personally think their price ranges are reasonable comparing to the great service I received. With massive voucher specials or cyber Monday deals on products, tools and hair care you are guaranteed to win.

My Experience and Rating:
My overall experience was great and I would certainly be back for a colour treatment in the near future. The salon is situated a tad out of my way, but I guess it’s worth the sacrifice. I loved how efficient the service was and the advice that I received was professional and saved me from cutting my hair. I was experiencing a chemical cut which means my hair was extremely damaged and every time I brushed my hair the floor or my clothing would be covered with it. I was really worried and thought I was facing health issues, but Bioinic staff suggested that the MK Brazilian treatment would be all I need. Up until now my hair reduction has reduced drastically and my blow-dry/style time has reduced by 30 minutes. This means I now have more time to be my beautiful self.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Tis the season...Summer is ''Full Bloom"

18 November 2016

Amidst me doing my makeup of the day I heard a knock on the door and it’s a delivery guy. Being a bit sceptical to open the door and looking super ridiculous with a half done face I go off anyway, to accept a new package from Kangol.

Packed with a matte lippie in the shade Sunkissed which is perfect for a natural day time look. I used it immediately and it lasted a couple of hours. This lipstick is smooth and soft like a balm unlike, many other matte lipsticks it feels like there is nothing on your lips. The rest of the package consisted of a wonder definition lash mascara, the primal eyeshadow palette and red lip gloss which might just be my summer go to cosmetics this season.

This summer will be about keeping it natural with a bold statement lip. I also received these gorgeous nail colours in four season blue and Beverly Hills yellow and retails at R65,00 each. I used both nail enamels to give my inner nail tech a-go and created this nail art (scroll down) at first attempt. So, you can only imagine how easy it is meaning, you can certainly do it too!  I used some tape, silver nail polish as well as a top coat of my own to set this design and it lasted for more than a week. Find some of your best Kangol summer beauty steals at a Truworths store closest to you and show off your fab nails too.

Thank you for all the love and support and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.

New John Frieda In-Shower Colour Treatment Range Review

5 October 2016
Hey Beauties!

Finally, we can see that summer is upon us and I am sure you will agree with me that our hair will have to “look on fleek”, because our outfits are going to be kept simple and minimal.More importantly, I always feel that a new season calls for a newer and fresher me.

Thankfully, the amazing team sent over this new John Frieda product. These in-shower colour treatments are manufactured in a number of variances, but I specifically decided to use the Brilliant Brunette in visibly lighter shade. This you can hear and learn more about in the YouTube Video accompanying this review above.

My immediate thoughts about this product was that it is a major time saver and very easy to use. I absolutely love the packaging as well as the applicators on the bottles/ tubes. My mom and I both treated our hair with this products and love how it smells. She used the visibly deeper shade in the brilliant brunette colour range and even mentioned that it smells like “perfume” lol. Anyway, my impression about this product is that it’s more of a natural colour treatment than an actual colouring product like the average hair dye. I did not receive a major colour change, but I am thoroughly happy with the amazing shine, softness and strength my hair has after using this product. It can not only be used on natural hair, but coloured hair like mine and used on highlights or lowlights. This in-shower colour treatment is perfect to use once a month to keep your natural hair colour looking vibrant.

This product can be purchased at your nearest Clicks store and further reviews can be viewed on the rubybox web page here.  A side note from me would be that reading the instructions on the package will guide you very well and maximise your results. winx

This is a picture snapped on the same day before I used the product.
 An after picture
You can probably notice the lighter shade of my ends. However, I am very happy that my colour did not change complete and that I still have a "rose gold" shade. I will certainly be posting more hair selfies on my Instagram. winx

Thank you for reading and I hope you will be able to use the product with ease and be as a happy with the results as I am. I will also be giving away the sheer blonde colour treatment over on Instagram so do watch out for that.
With Love, Light and Blessings.

21 September 2016
Hey Beesy Bees!

It’s time for your weekly beauty dose and this week I tell you more about the Premiere Luxe Gold Blush Perfume by Justine. You might have seen that I mentioned something about this review over on my Instagram page a couple of weeks ago. Now, I finally get a chance to reveal it to you in this exclusive review.

I personally am extremely fussy when it comes to purchasing fragrances especially if I am unable to test it before buying. As you know, Avon and Justine are brands which you usually have to order, either from their online app or a representative. Meaning, it’s not like your usual fragrance counter experience and most of the time we are not able to test the fragrances before ordering. For many years this kept me skeptical and no matter how tempted I was to order I rather opted to go into fragrance boutiques and pay an arm and a leg for perfumes. However, after I started using this fragrance my perception has changed tremendously! It’s something that is on my pedestal 24/7 and is more like my “everyday scent”, from Monday to Friday and complements my work-wear.
Its main ingredients are a luxurious fuse of pomegranate, peach and pink pepper blended together with jasmine, rose and orchid. Believe it or not I searched all over for peaches or even peach juice and eventually only found dried peaches. Which I guess is because it’s not entirely the season for it just yet, but I do find comfort in knowing that summer is on its way and that there is a hint of peach in my perfume. It makes up a very original fragrance and its rose gold packaging is right on trend.
I love fresh crisp feminine scents that can make you feel like a million dollars in just one sprits. Well let me tell you, this Premiere Luxe Gold Blush perfume does all of that and a whole lot more and sold for R199.00. That’s not all, Avon and Justine has impressed me even more, because on each page of their October brochure they added a little rubbing insert which allows us to smell the perfume that they are showcasing on that specific page. All our doubts are swiftly fading away and replaced with magical feminine traces allowing us to choose our favourite fragrances.

I hope you enjoyed this insert and don’t forget to watch out for next week’s beauty review.

"Sometimes the eyes tell a greater story than the tongue."

17 August 2016
Hey beauties

Welcome back to another segment where I tell you more about my latest KangolZA product. Well, firstly I hope that you have been enjoying the nail routine tips I left you in my last post. However, if you haven't had a chance to have a look at it yet, don't worry you can scroll down to view.

Last Thursday, I decided to create a Smokey eye look using Kangol's metal halo eyeshadow palette. This look is perfect for a night out and it can be intensified as you progress with the techniques. I personally don't like a very dark eye and prefer a more subtle Smokey look. This was easy to achieve using the ah-mazing brush that comes with this palette (see video below).
I have only tested three shades and already loving it! Certain shades are more pigmented than others and turns out very well as soon as it has set. It's very shimmery and adds a great sparkling effect to the look which allows us to tell the perfect story with our eyes.

Having that said, I can't wait to get my hands on their primal palette which consists of Browns and Bronze. This will be fab to create a more natural day time look and as you can see I am an absolute lover of pink. Therefore, California Dreams is on my beauty shopping list too. This palette consists of pinks and plums which is great for day-time, but what else won't I be able to create once I have them all? Wow! I have some amazing ideas popping up. Stay tuned. ;-)

These palettes are currently selling at R 159,00 and available from Truworths stores.

Retro Girl Range Nail Vanish Review ft. YouTube Video

25 July 2016
Hi Beauties
I hope you had a fab weekend! Mine was extremely relaxing, because on Saturday load shedding decided to make a long lost come back in my area. This made me feel frustrated especially in this cold weather conditions.

I decided to get back under the covers for some much needed beauty rest, after all what is a girl to do? However, in the back of my mind I at least had one consolation knowing that my manicure is on point.  One thing less on my to-do-list for when the power was switched back on, but this would probably have not been the case if I didn’t follow my regular nail care routine. I ensure that I at least follow these easy steps once a week especially, because during winter my nails are more sensitive, brittle and my skin becomes extremely dry. For years I had a bad habit of biting my nails until I grew older and realised our unappealing it looked. I decided that it was time for change and as hard as the temptation seemed I didn’t give in and followed this easy 20 min routine (see video here).

1.       Neatly trim nails with a nail clipper
2.       File and shape
3.       Apply a few drops of cuticle oil to your cuticles to soften and strengthen.
4.       Soak your fingertips in lukewarm water to sooth and soften
5.       Push cuticles back. (Why? Cuticles are dead skin that joins the nail to the skin of the finger and protects the finger from bacteria. Therefore, it’s important to nurture it and ensure that it’s kept clean. Pushing it back helps nails to grow, appear healthier and prevents it from becoming dry and flaky).
6.       Buff your nails to get rid of excess nail polish, remove ridges and add a natural shine.
7.       Moisturise your hands by applying a hand cream.
8.       Finish off with your favourite nail colour.

This time I used two beautiful colours from Kangol ZA’s latest Retro Girl Range. The first colour that I applied was forest green with a gel effect. I then painted my ring finger and thumb with their intense Blue Glitter nail varnish.  I applied two coats of the forest green colour and left it to dry before applying the glitter one, which needs more than two coats. Intense Blue Glitter nail varnish is fairly thin and works best over a base coat like this green. Overall, I am very happy with this range and I am looking forward to the next. This glitzy look is perfect for a winter’s night out and will not only put you in party mood, but your finger nails too.
Thank You for watching and reading this review. I hope that you enjoyed it and please don't forget to share your thoughts on Kangol ZA products, I would love to hear.

Kangol ZA is stocked at all Truworths stores nation wide and priced at R69.00.

With Love, Light and Blessings.

20 May 2016

Hey Guys!
Happy Friday unto you all! May you have a great weekend and if you have to work this weekend I totally know how you are feeling, but hay! How else are we ever going to get to those goals? So let's just think of the upside of it and release some positive vibes.
After being busy the entire week I don't blame you guys... You will become tired and fatigue. This is me every single Friday and I have made peace with it and decided that I will treat myself every Friday evening even if it's just by laying in the bath a little longer than usual.  If you have been following me on Snapchat you might have seen my bubble baths I have been enjoying for the last two weeks. This has officially become my new ritual and now that we moving into the colder months a delicious hot chocolate will certainly follow thereafter. It has become my way to do what I love without rushing as everything during the week is tightly scheduled and most things being done is often just to get to the next thing. With this new ritual I am able to create my favourite spa in the comfort of my own home by using my Mangwanani African spa products.
Apart from a wide range of in spa treatments Mangwanani offers, they also have a host of spa products that can be purchased at the spa. I visited the Mandela Rhodes Place spa recently and picked up these while I was there. I never knew that it’s so affordable and smells absolutely amazing. It's made from natural ingredients and very gentle on the skin. See below each picture for my thoughts around it.
Milk and Honey Two Phase Foam Bath
This foam bath is much more liquid in texture as what I expected and is more like bath milk. It makes the foam you need for a great bath once you have poured it into your bath while the water is still running. This makes my skin feel soft and I love the way it's been packaged. Looks like milky hay?
Milk and Honey Body Butter
I love the scent of this, but I love the quality of it even more. This is truly a butter that's thick; I hate a liquid cream that runs out to much. I have very dry hands and feet and this has solved that problem since I have used it daily.
Milk and Honey Exfoliator scrub
This is my ultimate favourite out of everything I got, because I love a good scrub especially if its with something that I can feel the granules. This milk and honey range has a distinct clean smell that's undescribable . You don't have to use much of it and I only use it once a week which means this is going to last a long while.

Nimue Skin Technology Product  Range Review

04 March 2016
Hey beesy bees!

I have been using the Nimue Skin care range for problematic skin and I thought I would chat to you about it and also let you in on my recent experiences. Firstly, let me explain to you more about Nimue, well known for its innovative formulations and cutting edge technology.  Speaking about technology, Nimue has a mobile app which I personally used to check which skin type you have and the suitable products to use from the various Nimue skin care range. The diagnostic tool on the app assists you in this decision, which I think is perfect because you do not need to go to the store to find this info, it’s at the end of your fingertips. That is exactly how I knew that I needed the range for problematic skin which is also classified has acne and after the app displayed the results it showed me the reasons why I need to use certain products. I think that knowing your skin type is an extremely important thing whether you are using Nimue or any other skin product.

Ever since I turned sixteen I have been suffering from acne and you can obviously imagine that I have tried an enormous amount of skin care products already. Suffering from acne is one of the things which negatively impacted my self-confidence the most and I have been on medication prescribed by my doctor which tends to make me feel ill.
While using the Nimue Phase one home-care products I was not using the prescribed medication at the time and during the first three weeks of using the products I had unbearable and painful breakouts on odd place in my face L . At this point I fully understood why it was happening. It was a new product that I started and it was as if all the underlying oiliness, deep underneath my skin was being removed (“detoxified”). Thereafter, I experienced no breakouts and not a single new zit J yay! My skin was not feeling tight after I completed my daily routine and the amount of oil decreased drastically. For the very first time I could allow Justin to kiss me on my cheek without being afraid and weary of my skin condition.

However, I saw that I still had scars and previous marks in my face especially on my cheeks which you will see in the video below. I might be expecting too much from this product and wished for a healthier glow. Moreover, at this point in time the cleanser and conditioning spray were close to being done, meaning I had to opt for a quick fix. This is not good at all because when using skin products to expect results one needs to be consistent. Using this product range was one of the most time consuming ones I have ever tried but as I am growing older I have realised that investing in good skin care products is important. More so taking time to do it properly.  This five step ritual had become my daily dose of “me time” and I enjoy performing this skin care routine no matter how tired I am. Overall, I absolutely love these products and give it a rating of four out of five. However, this brand is expensive but value for your money. I will be stocking up on my cleanser and conditioner very soon to continue my Nimue journey.

Cleansing Gel: Soap free 2-in-1 Creamy Gel

Exfoliating Enzyme: I use this twice a week to gently detach dead skin cells and to promote cell renewal.

Conditioner: Used to promote skin restoration
Moisturiser Lite: Fresh smelling day peparation cream with multi-functional properties formulated
to restore and rejuvenate.
Purifier: A skin clarifying night preparation cream for the control and management of problematic skin conditions.
Nimue SPF40 Cream: Light-weight, non-oily emulsion base that offers a dual focus in providing a certified high broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection and anti-aging benefits to assist in reducing and preventing the visible signs of photo aging and to effectively compliment the Nimue Skin Health Programme. Formulated to aid in DNA protection and repair which  lastly is applied to the face.
I hope you enjoyed this insert.

Thank you for stopping by and don't forget to let me know what you think. If you have any questions feel free to tweet @miss2beesy on twitter and I will gladly answer.

 Previously in review...

18 December 2015

It’s been a very long while since I actually did a how to / reviews article and I thought of doing something that is extremely important to me. Even though it’s so important to me I often neglect to clean my make-up brushes on a regular basis. Yes, I know this might seem as if I am super lazy or just don’t care but, the reality is I never knew how to clean them and always struggled.

The festive season is upon us and for most of us girls we will be dressing up  to the nines for all the parties. I hope most of you would agree, all these parties are always planned so close to each other and we tend to be rushing to them all. I also think that because, applying make-up takes such a lot of time we over look the important factors. Therefore, I would like to share this tip with all of  you ladies. This personally affects my skin tremendously but, for a very long time I have been struggling to find the correct materials to clean it.  Believe me I have tried everything under the sun but ended up extremely dissatisfied. I even used washing powder once because I thought that it would be soapy enough to remove all the make-up in-between the bristles. However, it really did not work and made my brushes feel hard which is unpleasant to use on your skin.

After all the research I have done regarding this I finally, randomly tried cleaning it with my hair shampoo. To my major surprise it worked like a bomb! All I did was the following:

Rinsed my brushes in clean luke warm water in the bathroom basin and damped the bristles with my fingers.

* Squeezed some shampoo on my palms and individually rubbed my brushes in it and then washed the bristles like I would wash my hair. All the make-up washed out very easily which you will immediately see when the water becomes discoloured.

* Thereafter, I rinsed all my brushes by holding it under the running tap for a second to see if the water does not become discoloured. This is to determine if the brushes are actually clean and to make sure there is no residue on them. If the water was not clear and clean I would wash my brushes once more.

*   I left the brushes on a clean towel to air dry before I used them again. (This might take a while so do it way in advance of using it.)

Below I inserted a little video clip to demonstrate how to do it and a few pictures of how it turned out. You can also find my do’s and don’t’s tips below and feel free to let me know what you think.
Hay!!! Before you go... I have a little festive surprise for you.

Hey beauties

I hope you are doing great and excited to get into the summer holiday mode?

You might have seen on snapchat or the other social media sites that I am somehow always ranting about my manicures from Lande’s Beauty and  Nail Studio or you might have seen the competition on our Facebook page a while back. Well, I thought that I will tell you more about them and also leave you with a little review, seeing that I have sometime on my hands and that Andrea Ruiter does an absolute incredible job.

Tell us who is this Andrea Ruiter? Well you can find her at the Mitchell’s Plain Promenade mall branch between 9am-6pm daily but you should certainly call to book your appointment because she needs some pamper time too and might just be off when you visit. What make’s her so incredible? Oh she a complete creative soul where nail art is concern and knows exactly which nail style to choose that matches with your personality or a special occasion. That’s if you don’t already know what you would like and become too overwhelmed with the amazing full range of Morgan Taylor or Orly. However, besides that she is a complete fashion freak which means you can pick up a conversation on the latest trends while getting your nails done.I had a number of  various full set acrylic extensions done before and lasted me almost up to a month  if I treated them well.

With reasonable prices but better yet very welcoming staff  Lande’s Beauty and  Nail Studio invites you to enjoy their services at the time most convenient to you. Now hop on over to your Facebook and give their page a like where you can also find reviews written by previous customers. ;-)

Hi beauties!
Ready to be told about one of the most amazing products you might ever use? Then sit back and enjoy. ;-)
To me hair care is extremely important and as I have mentioned before, my hair plays an important role especially when putting a look together. Without my hair being beautiful and healthy I feel untied, frustrated or find myself unattractive. My outfit becomes more alive when my hair/hair style has been done to the “TEE” and I often find that I just need the basic make-up essentials. I have been using Hannon Argan oil (Produced by Hannon from Galm Guru on KykNET) for the past two months and it has made myself and my hair very happy lol. I normally apply a drop of this leave-in treatment to the palm of my hand and massage it through my towel dried hair from root to tip. After I have rinsed off all of my conditioner and before blow drying my hair. This oil has an absolute amazing scent and leaves no residue or oiliness. Hannon Argan Oil is suitable for all types of hair and mainly acts as an anti-frizz, meaning my curly hair is now much sleek and on fleek.

I have used many other oils before, but this one really does the trick for me and just so that you know this is not a sponsored post. My mom actually bought this and I have been secretly using it…ssshh please don’t tell. We jointly use this product on a regular and this 60ml bottle lasts us quite a while because, you only need one drop at a time. Sometimes I forget to apply it and just start blow drying my hair but, then still able to apply it afterwards. Hannon Argan oil gives my hair all the shine it needs and I am able to just stroke my fingers through my hair. When the odd occasion occurs and I don’t have a comb at hand.

I hope this would be of help and be your solution to happier, healthier and smoother looking hair.

Thank you for reading and feel free to leave your comments below.

Hey all my beauties ☺
I have something special and exciting to share with you. It might seem a little different to the usual beauty products I use and speak of but, I think this one can and will come in very handy.
I was approached by WondaYou Distributors  not so long ago and sponsored with a few products to try at my leisure. At first I was very unsure and thought that I don’t need and wondrous thing for my bust. I could not comprehend how it can help me as have not been blessed with many in that area and even told my mom about it before accepting the invitation. After a very successful meeting with the representative of the Company in SA. I felt very enlightened and extremely excited for my WondaYou journey.
What is WondaYou Volum Bust?
It’s a moisturizer, which needs to be applied daily to your bust to act as an anti aging crème. It has the effect of making your skin softer and firmer. It’s great for mothers after birth to bring bust back to normality. The firmness allows it to lift, but unfortunately the sad part is you still need a bra. Yet, your cleavage will look much more firmer natural. The anti aging effect is great for the chest and neck area which often becomes wrinkled with age. WondaYou caters for all women and I think it’s better to use it over time to see gradual results. I have to be honest with you I have been using it for about three weeks now and my bust still seems the same but my skin around that area is much softer. With ingredients such as Aqua, Glycoproteines, Phospholipides and more used to work actively together for natural results over time.
Where is it from?
WondaYou distributors, was established in 2014 in Cape Town with the manufacturer, VOLUM-BUST cream - IMP Pharma, based in Holland. Natalia the representative in South Africa was first introduced to the product while on her travels in Spain and was pleasantly surprised with its results. It's been in the European Market for the last 15 years, but has never reached our South African shores and we are delighted to be the first to introduce this amazing product.
Where can it be found?
Volume Bust is currently being sold at salons across Cape Town such as Century spa Canal walk, Flava hair designs, Susan’s nails and beauty, Lande’s nail studio, Lande’s health and beauty, Beauty point. You can however also get in touch with them via their Facebook page or Instagram to find out more about WondaYou.

Do you have lashes or lashies?

Hey , my lovelies

I am just hoping over to tell you all about my newest beauty experience. Earlier this week I had an appointment  at the Queen Bee Hair Boutique for some lash extensions. This was my very first time and was a bit unsure if it would suit me or be uncomfortable. I always wondered how I would look with it as I have tried applying my own strip of false lashes, but failed dismally.

I am only writing this post today as it is my fourth day of having it and wanted to give you guys a fair and accurate inside look. Mainly because if you do decide to have it done you will have a clearer understanding of what it could be like however, still bear in mind that we are all different and you might just have a different experience.
As I was saying, I popped into the salon and Monique Governeder (head stylist and beauty therapist) was ready to see to my needs. The salon staff was friendly as always and welcomed me with smiling faces. I entered the very relaxed beauty room and Monique explained to me the process before we commenced. After she complimented me on my natural long lashes she started by grooming my eyebrows which consisted of a wax and  eyebrow tint. She then started with my lash extensions which  was absolutely pain free. Monique checked which style I would prefer allowing me to choose between mink lashes  which is less fluffy and more straight (Kim k inspired) or if I would prefer a more fuller looking, curler set. We eventually decided on the fuller and curler set which now leads to no need to apply any mascara yay! Major time saver for Miss2Beesy J

I have been receiving loads of compliments from complete strangers in the street, family, friends and not forgetting you guys <3. My lashes which now are lashies lol transformed my entire look and enhances my face and the minimal make-up I wear. It makes my eyes look more appealing and flattering, but the best part is that it looks 100% natural.

In order to keep your lashies in shape you need to maintain it just like any other part of your body. Therefore Monique recommended that when I do wash my face I need to carefully  wash around the eye area. I also would suggest that you do not rub your eye at all and use oil-free make up remover  wipes to clean the eye area. Try not to sleep on your tummy if possible as sleeping with your face down could damage your luscious lashies.
Queen Bee also has many other services that they provide along with hair and spa treatments. I will tell you all about this in my  next post. They are also running an exclusive offer on eyebrow wax, tint and lash extensions for only R350.00 throughout the rest of this month. This  last up to two weeks of glamorousness or more before you have to get it refilled as Lash extensions sheds along with your natural lashes.

For more info on Queen Bee Hair Boutique check their Facebook page or feel free to give them a call.

Thank you for reading my post!
I love hearing your thoughts so please do not forget to leave a comment.

Subscribe to your surprise now with #rubybox #supriseyourself xx.

Have you ever had a stressful day and feel extremely drained after a hot sweaty day at work? Feeling relieved that home time has hit the clock and now ready to relax for a while. When you finally step in the door at home, you hear the news that something has been delivered just for you. Now that’s the start of my ruby box surprise yourself experience.
As a little girl I always loved lucky packs, party packs, gifts, etc. I would want my mom to get me some even if it was not my birthday. I remember how one of my aunts would not give all my luxuries she has bought for me until she placed it a packet  lol like a party pack to surprise me. That’s why the Ruby box concept lies very close to my heart because it tingles the exact same happy feeling I had as a little girl, but now  just surprising me with goodies that a young lady is destined to own.
I was surprised with this ruby box a few weeks ago and first wanted to use my gifts to its fullest potential before sharing it with you. Just so that I am able to give you a clear perspective of all the amazing sample products I received.
In my box was:

  • Ruby box beauty smoochstick… mwah (My Number one Favorite)  priced at R129.95
  • Ruby box beauty Nailed IT Lacquer in light gray that is long lasting and dry’s quickly, which I totally love because I am always in a rush costing R74.95
  • Lanolin -Agg Tval which is an egg white facial cleansing bar which deep cleanses the face for a radiant complexion and more at R39.95
  • NATURAL LAB CREAM SPF 30 cream. I tried using this one sparingly and when I first opened it, I actually closed it again because I thought it was makeup, but it’s actually a tinted cream to moisturize your skin underneath your make-up and to suit all skin types.  The only downside about this product for me was that Justin didn't like the smell of it so I tried using it when he's not around, but I know my smoochstick made up for it lol wick wick priced at R199.95
If you think you now know all about the goodness of Ruby box, then hold on the best is yet to be revealed. These products are valued at a total of R444.80 which I honestly do not have to spend on a surprise every month, but if you subscribe at a monthly fee of R169.95 you can have it delivered to your door step. The best part is ruby box caters for your needs in the best possible way by selecting the best beauty products for you and surprising you with it. Some products you will love and would want more of and some you would develop a love hate relationship with like myself with the Natural Lab cream lol.
Oh but before I go!
Allow to add that It comes in very pretty packaging to give it the extra feminine touch. Comment below if you enjoyed my experience or if you will be having one too.

Thanks for stopping by!
Lots of Love

Hellooo everybody!
Welcome to my first post for 2015. I know I might sound a little delayed but HAPPY NEW YEAR!! May the year be filled with much success and enjoyJ. Forgive me I was on a little holiday break and took some time out to relax, do new things and of course shopping.

There are many festive experiences I would like to share with you but then you will be reading things like strawberry picking to dinner dates etc. Which will leave less space to talk about style and fashion <3 but to round everything up I will just share a short insert of my holidays with you. I hope you heard about Lush Cosmetics before which is situated in Canal walk the ultimate shopping centre in Cape Town.  I randomly popped in just to see what is to offer but my gosh! I probably stayed in the store for an hour if not more. I had no intention on purchasing anything but left with gifts for two of Miss2Beesy’s social media fans and goodies for myself yay! Like this shampoo soap bars that is totally amazing as it is handmade just like all the Lush products in store. This shampoo bar comes in a wide variety catering for many hair care needs. I for one was looking for something to stimulate hair growth and the cinnamon bar offered just that. (Has real cinnamon sticks in it #naturalgoodness)
#FACT: Shampoo bar is equivalent to 3 regular bottles of shampoo.
I then told one of the very friendly sales ladies that I am also looking for a conditioner and took me through a few that met my needs. However I decided to go with one that is called American Cream and smells divine. Even after I rinsed off my hair and blow dried it I still get the scent of it especially when the wind blows through my hair.

For the number one fans I managed to get something called bath bombs which Lush is actually very well known for. I would describe it as a fuzzy ball with a little secret inside lol because once it has whizzed away in your bath water. It either leaves your bath with rose petals or candy depending on the type. Lush Cosmetics does in store demonstrations and showcases the effects certain products have. I honestly think it’s a brilliant idea because this shows you exactly what you purchasing and all the benefits before even paying for it. At that moment they were demonstrating the sex bomb which is very inexpensive and adds colour to your bath with lots of lusciousness. Not forgetting the individual aroma each one has. It’s such a shame you guys could not be with me while watching the demonstration but here is a little clip courtesy of the Lush Cosmetics YouTube channel.
Most of the products at lush ranging from skin care to hair care comes in cute shapes and sizes with fun packaging. Yet besides the great prices the staff treated me well and I had an opportunity to speak to Carmen Van Wyk after Justin recognised her face just after attending the Odyssey Fashion Project the previous evening. One of the official organisers of the #OFF2014.

I hope you will stop by for your own lush experience very soon and please let me know what you will be getting by commenting below. I will keep you posted on how great the cinnamon shampoo is and as soon as I have my luscious long locks I will do a review.

Thanks for reading and bye bye now.

Hi there Beauties :-)!

There is something I have to tell you ... Unfortunately I am not able to tell it to you from my lips but from my finger tips . I have to introduce my newest bestie Longwear Lips by Yardley lol.
For many years even while growing up I never liked lipstick. As a little girl I thought it was yuck! And hated the lipstick mark on my cheek once older aunts kissed me. I tried my moms "secretly" ssshh! dont tell and always rubbed in off immediately because I just could not stand it. Up until six months ago when I was introduced to this beauty. I tried it after several other lipsticks and just loved the shade as well as the feeling on my lips. I was generally looking for something that lasts a while meaning a lipstick that will last from the moment I left home up until about after church..kind of thing. Longwear Lips offered that and was affordable ( R99.99 each). at the time. I have also noticed that during eating and drinking it fades which decreases the wear time period.

This lipstick is filled with vibrant colour that goes softly and smoothly. This may be the reason why I like it so much as I can hardly feel it when its on my lips. I sometimes have to check in the mirror just to make sure it's still there. It contains vitamin E extracts which replenishes moisture. However I have found that it leaves my lips a bit flakey after a while but the colour lasts that I can assure you. This can be found in fourteen different shades yet I am currently using seductive rose. mwah!

I have been playing around with the colour and I have noticed that I can either tone it up by applying more than once. This gives a bolder fuller look to my lips or I combine it with a pink shade which gives a total different feel. I would advice you to head over to your nearest Foschini or Edgards store to get your shade or Zando.

I have wore my Longwear Lipstick in the following posts previously...Have a look :-)

Brendon Groenewald ( EFC AFRICA MMA CHAMPION ) AND I

Tracy Lange (Radio and Tv Presenter) AND I

Justin Smith (My Boyfriend) AND I
So look no further and get your favorite shade today!
Hope you enjoyed my review.

Please let me know if you have experienced anything else so we can share it together.I will be showcasing some of my very own lipsticks soon :-) #watchthisspace

 Much Love

Many females as myself would say that their hair on their head is their crown. With it not being freshly done they feel uncomfortable , not very confident and seems as no matter the amazingly gorgeous outfit they wearing it just doesn't seem good enough.

Well allow me to add to all of that my panache and  lies not only in my hair but also my face. The part of my body that’s always exposed and which says so much to people without having to say a single word. Therefore I take full pride in taking care of it by just using the best for my skin … THAT’S WHY I HAVE CHOSEN SH'ZEN.

I have an extremely oily skin type and having a greasy skin especially, when having to take those snippets of what I am wearing has become a huge de-motivating factor. For many years I have searched to find something natural, soft, soothing and healthy for my skin but to no avail. Everything I tried either gave me a horrible break out or just irritated my skin completely.

This is one of my before pictures on my 21st Birthday I didn't even post about this because the pictures was good but certain parts of my face I just could not Photoshop away lol. This didn't leave me very confident and I didn't feel like applying any make-up, as I was too afraid it would damage my skin even more.

I searched for something close to home something homeopathic almost something my grandma would make with herbs etc. lol Until I was introduced to Sh'zen not so long ago my search was over. This range is also part of Sh'zen's best sellers so you can be assured its worth trying.

STEP 1 : Clarifying exfoliator -  A soft skin formula with gentle fruit acids. Walnut kernels to deep cleanse and nature the skin allowing it to recover an even texture. Leaving it healthier, glowing while unblocking my pores to sooth my skin.

STEP 2: Purifying Cleansing face wash- This is an amazing light gel cleanse with the delightful fresh scent of fruit which gently dissolves my make-up which I can now confidently use. It also has the ability to dissolves impurities from my face and eyes. Its extremely light I can even wash my face with my eyes open as there are no chemicals in it that can burn it. This gel only needs a small squeeze and a light bit of wet hands to get it foaming. It has a combination of grapefruit, bergamot, camphor and many more of natures goodness in it t leave my face feeling fresh.

STEP 3: Balancing Toner – An aromatic toning liquid  with bergamont and many more essential oils in it. Which helps to purify and re-balance my active skin with a energizing fragrance. This just needs min of to sprays on to a soft cloth or even some cotton wool and wiped over the entire face especially my oily t-zone to complete the cleansing process and remover any excess bacteria.

STEP 4: Matifying day cream SPF 30- A refreshing , re-balancing and soothing non-oily day cream for combination of skins , which contains sebo regulating plant(a natural cleaning agent) to ensure a clean and glowing complexion. With natural regulating essential oils to support the skin’s natural functions and if you ever wondered how my make-up forms such a matte effect , well it’s all thanks to this cream. This is my most favorite product and part of my cleansing process.

My facial routine in defiantly my best part of my day that’s why I am happy to do it twice daily. All thanks to Sh'zen natural essence!

So I guess the saying which says…’’IF YOU SEEK YOU SHALL FIND” is actually true because I was looking for something natural and close to home and I found it in every sense of the word. As Sh'zen is a South African based company situated in the beautiful Cape Town Ottery not very far from my home.
There are many more products I am hoping to try soon and part of my very long wish list.

Sh'zen caters for men , female and children and different skin types
*  Use a good face wash like Sh'zen that suits your skin type
*Try to stick to the same range for cleansing
*Do not sleep with hair that’s not tide as this causes more breakouts
*Make sure your hair is always clean and freshly shampooed
*Ensure that your pillow is always fresh
*Get your regular dose of beauty sleep to eliminate  any baggy eye
*Do not scratch break outs on your face.
*Do not go to bed with make-up on
*Always check that your day cream has UV protection like Sh'zen

Hope you enjoyed this insert and thanks for taking the time out to read this. I am happy to read your comments as well as we all have a right to our own opinions, I have shared mine so please feel free to share yours too.

Stay tuned for more Sh'zen product reviews, also like my  page as well as Sh'zen page to stay updated!
